In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. Your efforts will ensure that all areas are hygienic, well-organized, and compliant with safety standards, contributing to a positive experience for staff and visitors alike. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment, including floor buffers and industrial cleaning tools. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and maintaining proper storage protocols. Conduct routine sanitation tasks such as trash removal, restroom cleaning, dusting, mopping, sweeping, and disinfecting surfaces to uphold hygiene standards. Operate cleaning equipment efficiently, including floor buffers, vacuums, and other janitorial tools, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting (residential or commercial), and general upkeep to support the overall functionality of the building. Follow safety protocol adherence during all custodial activities, including heavy lifting using safe lifting practices and manual handling techniques to prevent injuries. Support other team members with custodial duties as needed and respond promptly to facility maintenance requests or issues. Qualifications Proven custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and proper use of cleaning equipment. Experience handling chemical agents safely and understanding chemical handling safety procedures. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while maintaining safe lifting practices. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining cleanliness across multiple areas. Good customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary. Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as basic repairs or residential painting is a plus.
