21 hours per week SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Library Director, this position is responsible for custodial care and maintenance of the Abbot Public Library building.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform all interior and exterior cleaning of the library, including vacuuming, rug cleaning, window washing, glass cleaning for interior and exterior doors, elevator cleaning, floor washing, bathrooms, dusting and cleaning of shelving, tables, chairs, upholstered chairs, service desks, staff work rooms, and all public areas. Collect trash and recycling and put bins out for collection. Provide general light maintenance including light bulb replacement; simple carpentry; painting; air filter maintenance and replacement; window maintenance, etc. Stock bathrooms as needed. Empty paper towel receptacles. Acts as general liaison with the Director in assisting outside maintenance vendors. Monitor Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system and change filters. Check sump pumps as needed. Prepare for storms and remove snow from walkways and clean up outdoor areas as needed. Set up meeting rooms for programs, events, and groups who have reserved space. Empty bookdrops and deliver as directed. Deliver mail. Performs other duties of a similar nature and complexity as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma (or equivalent), general custodial skills and experience, and knowledge of modern HVAC and Building Management Systems. Must be able to lift between 25-30 lbs. EOE/AA
