Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness at the Vinalhaven Ferry Terminal. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This position is for 1 day a week and starts at the Rockland Ferry Terminal and requires you to take a boat over to Vinalhaven to perform custodial services. Schedule is set for every Monday from 9:00 am to 1:00pm Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in assigned areas. Doing laundry and making beds Conduct janitorial duties in a commercial setting and adhering to established cleaning protocols. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs and upkeep of equipment. Ensure restrooms are clean and stocked with necessary supplies. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel. Follow safety guidelines and procedures while performing all cleaning tasks. Qualifications Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred but not required. Familiarity with floor care techniques and equipment is a plus. Experience in commercial cleaning or industrial cleaning environments is advantageous. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time effectively. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with staff and visitors.
