A & C Property Services is hiring a dependable, experienced cleaner to help keep a school in Birmingham clean, safe, and welcoming. This is an independent evening/overnight position with a flexible schedule — we're less concerned about exactly when you start and more concerned about the building being thoroughly cleaned, stocked, and ready to go before staff arrives the next morning. If you prefer working independently, setting your own pace, and taking pride in leaving a building noticeably cleaner than you found it, this may be a great fit.

What You'll Be Doing This position has a heavy focus on restroom cleaning and sanitation. School restrooms see a lot of use every day, so we're looking for someone who understands the difference between quickly wiping things down and actually getting them clean.

Your responsibilities will include:

Thoroughly clean and sanitize school restrooms each night , including toilets, urinals, sinks, faucets, counters, mirrors, partitions, dispensers, doors, fixtures, and other surfaces. Sweep and wet mop restroom floors, paying particular attention to corners, edges, around toilets and urinals, and other areas where dirt and buildup collect. Clean and disinfect high-touch restroom surfaces, including flush handles, faucets, dispensers, door handles, and stall hardware. Empty restroom trash and sanitary receptacles and replace liners. Restock toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other restroom supplies. Identify and address odors, buildup, spills, and other conditions requiring additional attention. Clean classrooms, offices, hallways, entrances, common areas, and other assigned spaces. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot-clean floors as required. Empty trash and recycling and replace liners. Wipe and sanitize desks, counters, doors, handles, and other designated surfaces. Spot-clean glass, doors, walls, and other visible surfaces. Complete assigned periodic or detail-cleaning tasks. Report maintenance problems, damage, supply shortages, safety concerns, or unusual conditions.

The goal is simple:

when students and staff arrive the next morning, the school should be clean, stocked, presentable, and ready for another day. A Schedule That Works Around You This isn't a traditional position where you need to punch in at an exact time every evening. Once the school is available for cleaning, you have flexibility in when you complete the work. Start earlier in the evening or come in later at night — whatever works best for you.

What matters is that:

All assigned cleaning is completed Monday through Friday. The entire assigned area is finished before school staff arrives the following morning. Cleaning is completed thoroughly and consistently every night. If you like working independently without someone standing over your shoulder, this position offers that flexibility — along with the responsibility that comes with it. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their building. You shouldn't need someone following behind you pointing out dirty corners, an empty soap dispenser, or a restroom that needs another pass. Required Previous commercial cleaning, school, institutional, janitorial, or similar facility experience. Strong restroom cleaning and sanitation experience. Reliable and able to consistently complete all assigned work before the required morning deadline. Strong attention to detail and pride in doing the job correctly. Able to work independently without direct supervision. Comfortable managing your own evening/overnight schedule and workload. Comfortable receiving constructive coaching and applying feedback. Reliable transportation to and from the Birmingham facility. Ability to meet applicable school access, security, background screening, safety, and other facility requirements. Preferred Previous experience cleaning schools or educational facilities. Experience with high-use commercial or institutional restrooms.
