Comprised of a graduate Academy of Art, contemporary Art Museum, Center for Collections and Research, House and Gardens, Institute of Science, and more than 1,600 students attending our Pre-K through 12 independent college preparatory Schools, Cranbrook welcomes thousands of visitors and students to its campus each year. The Custodian is responsible for performing work associated with the maintenance and cleaning of buildings, furniture, grounds, sidewalks, vehicles and the equipment and tools needed for these tasks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Clean and maintain floors, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, stripping, and waxing and shampooing carpets. Wash windows and walls. Clean/disinfect bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, floors, etc. Dust and polish furniture and fixtures. Perform miscellaneous maintenance duties, e.g., change light bulbs, empty trash, hang decorations, and supply paper towel and tissue dispensers. Pick up debris and litter on grounds. Remove snow and ice from stairs and entranceways to buildings during winter months.
Requirements:
Valid Michigan driver's license with satisfactory driving record. Experience in the use and maintenance of building and cleaning equipment and tools desirable. Experience in the use of cleaning chemicals and solvents desirable. Previous institutional custodial experience desirable. Full-Time positions available

  • Friday, 6:00am
  • 2:30pm Monday
  • Friday, 4:00pm
  • 12:30am Rate of pay is $18.
75/hour. Afternoon shift and weekend shift is eligible for a $1.00 per hour shift premium.
