Job Description
Sheker Construction LLC is seeking a licensed Mechanical Contractor currently registered with the State of Michigan to join our team and lead the development of our in-house mechanical division. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who is willing to be hands-on in the field initially , while transitioning into a leadership and oversight position as the division grows. You will play a key role in building, managing, and scaling mechanical operations within an established and growing general contracting company. Key Responsibilities Serve as the company's qualifying licensed Mechanical Contractor in accordance with Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs requirements Perform and oversee hands-on HVAC/mechanical work during initial phase Lead installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC systems Review plans, specifications, and coordinate mechanical scopes with project team Pull permits and ensure full compliance with Michigan mechanical codes and inspections Assist with estimating, bidding, and value engineering mechanical scopes Build and manage internal crews and/or subcontractor relationships Transition into a division manager role overseeing operations, scheduling, and execution Requirements Active Michigan Mechanical Contractor License (Required) Strong experience in commercial HVAC systems and installations Ability to work both in the field and in a leadership capacity Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and construction documents Solid understanding of Michigan codes, permitting, and inspection processes Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Reliable, professional, and growth-oriented mindset Compensation & Growth Competitive salary based on experience ( $80,000 - $120,000+ ) Performance-based bonuses tied to division growth Gas/vehicle allowance Opportunity to grow into a long-term leadership role within the company Why Join Sheker Construction Established and growing commercial GC with strong project pipeline Opportunity to build and lead a mechanical division from the ground up Consistent commercial work across Metro Detroit Direct access to ownership and ability to impact company growth
