A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Position Summary:
The Custodian performs routine and general cleaning, maintaining assigned area(s) to meet staff, clients, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Responsibilities:
Clean and dust all horizontal and vertical surfaces including windows, doors, desks, shelves, intake vents, tables, chairs, and cabinetsMaintain clean carpets by detailed vacuuming, spot removal and shampooingPerform hard surface care for tile, concrete, tabletops, drinking fountains, and counters including buffing, sweeping, washing, polishing, spot removal and disinfecting.

Perform spot cleaning for walls, light switches, and doors as neededService and sanitize restrooms by cleaning floors, bathtubs, showers, sinks, urinals, toilets, and mirrorsEnsure cleanliness of kitchen counters, sinks, appliances, and floorsEmpty trash and recycle receptacles; replace liners as neededAssist with program space set up as directed (tables, chairs, etc.)Monitor and report maintenance repairsOrganize cleaning suppliesMaintain outdoor property as neededAssist with building repairs as needed, such as painting, moving furniture or plumbingClean and maintain grease trap monthly and reporting the findings to the officers (if applicable)Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma / GED preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilitiesJanitorial experience preferred
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Maintains confidentiality
Computer Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (preferred)Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint (preferred)Willingness to learn new software as needed
Certificates and Licenses:
