A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
Multiple Properties About the Role Mitten Rentals is seeking a detail-oriented, reliable cleaner to join our growing vacation rental team. You'll be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of our premium short-term rental properties across South Haven, Grand Junction, Holland, Saugatuck, West Olive, and Fennville. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys working in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Perform deep cleaning of vacation rental properties including all bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas Change and wash linens, towels, and other soft furnishings Clean and sanitize bathrooms and kitchen facilities to high standards Vacuum, sweep, mop, and dust all surfaces throughout the property Inspect properties for damage, maintenance issues, or repairs needed and report to management Restock amenities and supplies (toiletries, coffee, paper products, etc.) Ensure all properties are guest-ready with attention to detail and cleanliness standards Maintain flexible schedule to accommodate varying turnover times between guests What We're Looking For Reliable transportation is required — You'll travel between properties in South Haven, Holland, Saugatuck, Grand Junction, West Olive, and Fennville Proven experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or similar role (required) Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive cleaning tasks Positive attitude and strong work ethic Experience with vacation rental or hospitality cleaning is a plus What We Offer Competitive hourly wage of $22/hour Flexible weekly schedule that varies based on property turnover Opportunity to work with a growing, supportive team Potential for increased hours and growth opportunities About Mitten Rentals We manage premium vacation rental properties throughout Southwest Michigan, providing guests with exceptional hospitality and comfortable accommodations.
