Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Full-Time Evening Work. Join Our Team! Oscoda Area Schools is seeking two (2) dependable and motivated Full-Time Custodians to support operations at the high school, with possible placement at other district facilities. The Full-Time Custodial role provides opportunities to work as a valued member of a supportive school district team. This role develops valuable maintenance and facilities experience while facilitating active, hands-on, practical work that supports students and community members.
Schedule:
The schedule for the Full-Time Custodians will be second shift during the school year, and first shift during the summer months.
Duties:
Custodians play a vital role in ensuring our facilities are safe, clean, and welcoming, for students and community members. Training is provided. A strong work ethic and reliability are most important.
Responsibilities include:
General Cleaning of facilities including, but not limited to sweeping and scrubbing floors, cleaning windows, and minor maintenance Mixing and applying floor-protection chemicals Painting Repairing/replacing electrical mechanisms, plumbing pipes and fixtures Minor general construction (repair and/or new) Removing waste materials Other duties needed for good custodial practices Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will hold a high school diploma or GED and demonstrate: an ability to work independently or as part of a team, dependability and consistent attendance, an ability to follow written and verbal directions, an ability to lift 50 pounds, an ability to operate lawn equipment, fork lifts, and other equipment, an ability to stand on ladders or scaffolds, and an ability to be continually on your feet.
