Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Sanitation Worker and play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant environment within food production and processing facilities. Your energetic approach will ensure that sanitation standards are consistently met, supporting food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. This position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to a hygienic workspace while developing valuable skills in industrial cleaning, chemical handling, and safety protocols. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of production areas, equipment, and workstations using appropriate cleaning agents and techniques. Handle chemical agents safely by following established chemical handling procedures and safety protocols. Utilize industrial cleaning tools and janitorial equipment to maintain cleanliness standards across all designated zones. Apply proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection, during all sanitation activities to ensure safety. Conduct routine sanitation inspections to verify compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety regulations. Assist with the disassembly and reassembly of equipment for deep cleaning processes, ensuring proper reinstallation. Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, chemical usage, and safety checks for audit purposes. Experience Prior custodial or janitorial experience in a food processing or industrial environment is highly preferred. Familiarity with chemical handling safety procedures and the use of PPE is essential. Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and sanitation techniques is advantageous. Basic math skills are necessary for measuring chemicals and recording data accurately. Knowledge of GMP standards, food safety practices, and sanitation regulations will support your success in this role. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during cleaning tasks or when moving supplies and equipment.
