Job Description

Living Faith Church Custodian Vision and Mission:
The part-time custodian is responsible for the general cleaning, sanitizing and set-up of the Living Faith Church building and the general security of the building while on the job.
Compensation:
10 hours/week at $17.50/hour
Supervisor:
Office Administrator Qualifications and Skills:
Self motivated and able to communicate with the staff and congregation members as needed. Able to work a flexible schedule around the life of the church. Be in good physical condition and able to manage some heavy lifting, moving furniture, and operating the equipment required to perform job tasks. Have a servant attitude and the ability to organize and leverage the skills and talents of congregation members to help with more involved ongoing maintenance projects.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Be responsible for cleaning the church facility by performing regular housekeeping practices; this includes but is not limited to dusting, vacuuming, straightening, picking up, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and sanitizing. Prepare the sanctuary and other rooms for worship services and church events. This includes, but is not limited to, arranging chair and table set-ups, cleaning, sanitizing, emptying waste baskets, vacuuming rugs, mopping floor surfaces as needed, sanitizing all table and counter surfaces, etc. This also may include opening and closing the building for events. Order cleaning supplies, kitchen, and paper products, and storing adequate inventory. Remove all trash and recycling from the building and placing it in the appropriate dumpster. Maintain, clean, sanitize, and provide supplies for all washrooms. Check all rooms and shut off lights and lock doors as needed. Coordinate with the Administrator to ensure that routine building maintenance is scheduled with volunteers or hired vendors. Report immediately to the Office Administrator any major leaks, mechanical system failures, pest or insect issues, or major maintenance problems.
Pay:
$17.50 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 per week
