What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Ensuring Chart's Success… Chart's New Prague, MN location is currently seeking candidates interested in our Custodian position on our day shift. Hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 5:45am - 2:15pm. What Will You Do? Maintains cleanliness of floors which includes mopping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming and baseboards Responsible for trash pickup and disposal Maintains cleanliness of bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, countertops and replenishing paper towels and tissue paper Keeps lunchroom neat and orderly: coffee dispensers and coffee supply area filled, cups and napkins installed in dispensers, tables/sinks/countertops wiped down Light gardening which may include watering of plants, weeds pulled, etc. Maintains cleanliness of conference rooms and light dusting Understands and adheres to established safety and quality procedures Maintains a clean work area and practices general housekeeping standards Performs other duties as assigned Your Physical Work Environment Will Require… Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. and occasionally heavier (50-60 lbs.) with assistance Frequent standing, stooping, bending, twisting, walking and occasional crawling Frequent pushing, pulling and handling of materials Occasional sitting, climbing and working at elevated positions Exposure to metal cutting, welding odors, welding flash and incidental acceptable limits of x-ray radiation Possible exposure to chemical odors and temperature extremes Exposure to overhead objects and occasional flying debris Required use of safety glasses with side shields, ANSI approved steel-toed safety shoes, hearing protection and hard hat Your Experience Should Be... Previous housekeeping experience Able to tolerate extended periods of walking and standing. Basic written and verbal communication. Good customer service skills.
