A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Position:
The Custodian, under the authority and supervision of the Assistant Director of Facility Services and Director of Facility Services, is responsible for cleanliness of the buildings in a safe and effective manner.Duties and Responsibilities of the
Position:
1. Clean offices, classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and lounge areas daily. 2. Empty trash cans, clean/maintain floors, and dust furniture daily. 3. Supply bathrooms with toilet tissue, paper towels, and soap daily. 4. Mop floors as needed. 5. Follow schedule of cleaning activities as listed in the Custodian's checklist. 6. Accept other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated dependability by work performance and attendance. It is preferred that the applicant have completed the Work Keys skills assessment and scored a minimum of: Applied Mathematics- 3, Locating Information
