Job Description

Position Overview The Janitorial Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, orderly, and sanitary environment throughout the Lowe's Distribution Center. This position performs routine cleaning and sanitation duties in designated warehouse and facility areas while following established safety procedures, company policies, and site-specific requirements. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, able to work independently, and committed to providing consistent, high-quality cleaning services in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Duties and Responsibilities Clean and maintain assigned areas of the distribution center, including warehouse spaces, offices, break rooms, restrooms, common areas, and other designated locations. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize floors and surfaces. Clean and disinfect restrooms, sinks, toilets, fixtures, and other high-touch areas. Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated disposal areas. Restock restroom and janitorial supplies as needed. Clean break rooms, employee common areas, tables, countertops, and appliances as assigned. Perform spot cleaning and address spills or other cleanliness concerns promptly. Operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with manufacturer instructions and safety requirements. Perform floor care duties, including use of floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, and other equipment when trained and assigned. Maintain cleaning equipment and report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to management. Follow all Distribution Center and ECS safety, security, and access procedures. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain appropriate work attire. Report safety hazards, spills, damaged property, or maintenance concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Maintain a professional and respectful working relationship with Center employees, ECS management, coworkers, and other site personnel. Complete assigned cleaning tasks within the designated shift and meet established quality standards. Perform other related duties as assigned by ECS management or authorized on-site management. Physical Requirements The Janitorial Worker must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements. Lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment as required. Push and pull cleaning carts and equipment. Work in a large warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels. Safely perform duties in accordance with applicable workplace safety requirements. Qualifications Previous janitorial, custodial, warehouse, or commercial cleaning experience preferred but not required. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in the workplace. Ability to comply with all applicable ECS and Lowe's Distribution Center policies and procedures. Must be willing to complete required site orientation and safety training.
