A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Janitor to join our team. As a Janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our facilities. This is a vital role in ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for all employees and visitors.
Responsibilities:
Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas Empty trash receptacles and replace liners Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when restocking is needed Follow established safety procedures and guidelines Adhere to company policies and regulations regarding cleanliness and hygiene standards Other duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Skills and Qualifications:
Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred but not required Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and equipment Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Sufficient written communication and reading skills Ability to operate or to quickly learn equipment Good time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Ability to follow directions Ability to assess products for quality compliance Work Environment & Physical Demands The work environment characteristics & physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job.
