Hampstead Academy, Hampstead, NH Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (15 hours/week)
Compensation:
$20-$24 per hour, based on experience Position Summary Hampstead Academy is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Part-Time Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our PreK-8 students, staff, and families. This position plays an essential role in supporting the daily operation of the school by ensuring classrooms and common areas are clean, organized, and ready for learning each day. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, is self-motivated, enjoys working independently, and values being part of a collaborative school community. Essential Responsibilities Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas. Vacuum, sweep, mop, and dust throughout the school buildings. Empty trash and recycling containers. Clean windows, glass doors, and high-touch surfaces. Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed. Set up and break down tables and chairs for school events or meetings. Perform routine inspections of the building and report maintenance or safety concerns. Complete minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, or other basic repairs when appropriate. Maintain the cleanliness of entrances, walkways, and outdoor areas immediately surrounding the buildings. Secure buildings by ensuring doors and windows are locked and lights are turned off at the end of each shift. Follow all school safety procedures and proper handling of cleaning products and equipment. Assist with seasonal cleaning projects and occasional special events as needed. Qualifications Previous custodial or facilities experience preferred, but not required. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy. Strong attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing stairs, standing, and walking for extended periods. Comfortable using standard custodial equipment and cleaning products. Successful completion of a criminal background check. What We Offer A positive, supportive school community.
