The ideal candidate will have experience in custodial services, commercial cleaning, or industrial cleaning, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency. This role is vital in ensuring a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. The custodian will be responsible for performing routine cleaning tasks, operating cleaning equipment, and adhering to safety protocols to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Key Responsibilities Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal across various areas of the facility. Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning processes, following all chemical handling safety procedures. Conduct sanitation of restrooms, kitchens, and other high-touch areas to meet health standards. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting larger issues to maintenance teams. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper storage and usage. Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries during cleaning activities. Support special projects like painting or industrial cleaning as needed. Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards. Perform grounds maintenance tasks, including landscaping and snow removal. Skills & Qualifications Experience in custodial services or custodial work within commercial or industrial settings. Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, and speaking) Knowledge of landscape equipment. Familiarity with chemical agent handling and safety procedures for chemical handling safety procedures. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while performing repetitive bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, and lifting of up to 50 lbs (23 kg). Strong attention to detail in sanitation and floor care tasks. Good customer service skills when interacting with staff or visitors regarding facility cleanliness. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in maintaining facilities maintenance standards. Experience with commercial cleaning, industrial cleaning, or porter duties is highly desirable. Ability to follow safety protocols diligently and maintain a clean work environment at all times. Ability to work safely indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions Compensation The compensation range is $19-$24 and is provided as a general guideline only.
