A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Sussex County Community College is seeking a part time Custodian. The part time Custodian will report to the Custodial Supervisor and will be responsible for general cleaning activities, special project set ups and summer assignments. PM Position
- Monday
- Thursday 4:00pm
- 9:00pm and Saturday 4:00pm
- 8:00pm
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Knowledge of the practices, methods, tools, equipment, and materials of custodial functions. Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment. Perform floor care duties such as buffing, waxing, and carpet cleaning. Remove trash and other debris for general custodial duties as well as special project (such as moving furniture) Perform set ups and break downs of scheduled events as per work orders. Reports supply orders to Custodial Supervisor. Reports needs for minor repairs to Custodial Supervisor. Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure you are your team members are free from injury. Perform other duties as assigned.EDUCATION
- High School Graduate or equivalent
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Prior custodial experience preferred Ability to lift 40 pounds Valid Driver's License Ability to work with diverse populations. Professional and compassionate demeanor.
