Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodial Worker to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This work involves responsibility for the performance of routine building cleaning and occasional minor maintenance tasks. Cleaning tasks are performed according to well-defined procedures and maintenance tasks are performed under direct supervision or according to specific instructions. Duties Cleans rest rooms, replenishes usable items; Sweeps and mops floors and stairs, vacuums rugs; waxes and buffs floors; Dusts desks, woodwork, furniture and other equipment; Washes windows, walls, blackboards, sinks and other fixtures; Polishes furniture and metal furnishings; Empties waste baskets; collects and disposes rubbish; Delivers packages and messages; carries or transports using hand trucks; Unloads and store supplies and materials from vehicles; Arranges chairs and tables and other equipment for special use of building or large floor areas. Experience Previous custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or residential settings is highly preferred. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and other janitorial tools. Knowledge of sanitation standards and proper chemical handling safety procedures. Experience with floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, sealing, and waxing floors. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices. Strong attention to detail with a focus on maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. Customer service skills are a plus for interacting professionally with staff and visitors.
