Janitor (58279) East Hampton Residential - Wainscott, NY 11975 Apply Overview Salary Range $21.16 - $21.90 Hourly Education Level High School or GED Equivalent Category Facilities Apply Description SUMMARY Perform a full range of custodial duties related to the cleaning of an adolescent residential substance abuse treatment facility; Must act as a role model for patients and should be alert to unusual activities that are to be reported in a timely manner to management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and fixtures including sinks, urinals and toilets; wash windows, mirrors and walls; clean and sanitize showers as assigned; replenish supplies in the restrooms. Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors. Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment; clean desks and counter tops. Empty, clean and sanitize waste receptacles; pick up papers and other debris. Move and arrange furniture and equipment and set up rooms for conferences and meetings. Replace lights and adjust shades and blinds. Regulate ventilation and temperature; clean air vents as required. Identify and report building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. Monitor building security and safety by being alert to and reporting any unusual activities, performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in an indoor office environment. This role routinely uses standard cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, wax, polish, cleaning solutions, etc.
