Overview We are seeking a motivated and energetic part-time School Janitor to join our facilities team. This vital role ensures that our school environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety across our campus. Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal throughout the school premises. Handle custodial responsibilities such as floor buffing, carpet cleaning, and sanitation of restrooms and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment. Operate cleaning machinery including floor buffers and industrial cleaning tools safely and efficiently. Manage chemical agents by following safety protocols for handling, storage, and disposal to ensure a safe environment for all. Follow safety procedures diligently during heavy lifting or manual handling to prevent injuries. Maintain school's cleanliness and report any facility issues or safety concerns promptly to management. Experience Previous custodial or janitorial experience in a school or commercial setting is preferred. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and industrial vacuums. Knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation standards. Experience with safe lifting practices to handle supplies or equipment. Strong attention to detail with excellent time management skills. Ability to work independently while adhering to safety protocols and cleanliness standards.
