What they do

A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
Disinfecting per
COVID-19
County guidelines Cleaning all county buildings, including Prison staff areas. Vacuuming carpets Emptying office waste cans Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms. Emptying recyclable containers. Cleaning windows Light dusting Sweeping and mopping tile floors and stairwells Emptying outside trashcans and ashtrays Reporting problems to Custodial Supervisor for future maintenance work-orders Other duties assigned by Custodial Supervisor
WORKING CONDITIONS
Individual work involves moderate physical effort and exposure to dirt, dust, and mild clinging / disinfecting chemicals. Movement includes reaching, kneeling, and bending at the waist and knees.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday--5:00pm-1:00am
JOB REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma. Ability to understand and carry out simple oral and written instructions. Ability to learn standard cleaning methods and the use of equipment, such as floor waxers and vacuums.
