A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
The Facilities Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and compliant manufacturing environment throughout the medical device facility. This role supports production operations by performing routine cleaning and sanitation activities in manufacturing areas, warehouses, offices, laboratories, and common spaces while adhering to company procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize manufacturing areas, production support spaces, warehouses, offices, break rooms, locker rooms, restrooms, and other facility areas. Follow established cleaning schedules, procedures, and documentation requirements. Perform floor care including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, and waste removal. Maintain cleanliness of controlled and non-controlled environments in accordance with company standards. Collect, segregate, and dispose of trash, recycling, and regulated waste according to company and environmental requirements. Restock janitorial, hygiene, and facility supplies as needed. Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces and common areas. Support facility cleaning activities during audits, inspections, and customer visits. Identify and report facility maintenance, safety, or housekeeping concerns to supervision. Maintain housekeeping equipment and cleaning tools in proper working condition. Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with gowning requirements where applicable. Complete required housekeeping documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Support continuous improvement and 5S workplace organization initiatives. Assist with special cleaning projects and facility shutdown cleaning activities as assigned. Adhere to all company policies, GMP requirements, ISO standards, and regulatory expectations. Work Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous housekeeping, janitorial, manufacturing, or industrial cleaning experience preferred Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment. Familiarity with
GMP, ISO 13485, FDA
regulations, or cleanroom environments. Experience using industrial cleaning equipment and floor scrubbers.

Ability to work around cleaning chemicals and manufacturing environments. Ability to wear PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, gowns, hairnets, and safety shoes as required.
