A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

What the work looks like Standard and deep cleans of houses and apartments: kitchens, bathrooms, floors, dusting, trash Short-term rental turnovers: clean between guests, stage beds and towels, restock basics, and send photo confirmation through our app Move-in/move-out cleans, heaviest in May and August Pay and how contracting works $24-$30 per hour depending on experience, structured as a flat rate per completed job Paid weekly by direct deposit This is a 1099 independent contractor position. You choose which jobs to accept, set your own availability, and are responsible for your own taxes. It does not include benefits. Jobs are at client homes across the area Smartphone for scheduling and turnover photos Must be 18 or older Able to pass a background check Comfortable being on your feet for full cleans and lifting up to 25 lbs At least 1 year of professional cleaning experience: residential cleaning, hotel or hospitality housekeeping, or janitorial work all count General liability insurance, or the ability to obtain it before your first job. Policies typically run $40-60 a month and can be set up in a few days. The work is a practical fit if you're based in Danbury, Bethel, New Fairfield, Brookfield, Newtown, Ridgefield, or New Milford.
