Hours:
2:30pm - 11pm) to provide students, staff, and the public a safe, sanitary, and attractive facility.
Essential Functions:
To provide students, staff, and the public a clean, safe, and well-maintained facility. This role involves daily cleaning, routine maintenance and support for school events and operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1.Keep buildings and premises, including entryways, sidewalks, driveways and play areas neat and clean at all times in accordance with established work schedules/checklists.2.Shovels, plows, and/or sands walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps as necessary.3.Checks daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy.4.Raises the United States flag at or before 8:00 am on each school day and lowers it at or after 3:30 pm.5.Sweeps classrooms daily and dusts furniture.6.Vacuum carpets throughout assigned areas of facility.7.Attend mandatory trainings as required.8.Cleans corridors after school each day, and during the day when the condition requires it.9.Cleans and disinfects toilets, bathroom floors, sanitary fixtures, and drinking fountains daily.10.Washes all windows (inside and outside) as needed.11.Keeps the grounds free from rubbish.12.Keeps all floors clean and in good repair.13.Makes minor building repairs as qualified.14.Reports major repairs needed promptly to the Director of Facilities, Security & Transportation, Lead Maintenance Person, and Building Administrator.15.Maintains, on a regular schedule, all motors and other mechanical equipment requiring scheduled servicing.16.Immediately report to the Director of Facilities, Security & Transportation, Lead Maintenance Person, and Building Administrator any damage to school property and any safety concerns. 17.Assume responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school day and for determining, before leaving, that all doors and windows are secured, and all lights, except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off and shades drawn at equal height at end of school and on weekends.18.Keep an inventory of supplies, equipment, and fuel on hand and requisitions such as needed replacements from the Director of Facilities, Security & Transportation and Lead Maintenance Person far enough in advance so that they may be delivered in such time as will not hinder the Custodian in their duties.19.Move/arrange furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities and as directed by the Director of Facilities, Security & Transportation, Lead Maintenance Person, and/or Building Administrator.20.Store and dispose of trash and waste material in compliance with all State/Federal laws and procedures.21.Participate in necessary painting and general repairs to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general mechanical areas.22.Assist maintenance staff in remodeling and renovation work when necessary.23.Assume responsibility for the general security of the building and energy conservation regulations.24.Other related duties as may be assigned by Director of Facilities, Security & Transportation and/or Building Administrator. This is a twelve (12) month position. Hourly rate, benefits, and hours of work are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
