Student Custodial Work-Study Start Date:

Fall 2026 The Student Custodial Work-Study position provides students with an opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience while supporting the daily operations of Pickens High School. The student will work alongside members of the PHS custodial team to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting custodial staff with routine cleaning of classrooms, hallways, common areas, and other school spaces.
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and wiping down surfaces.
• Emptying trash and recycling containers and replacing liners.
• Helping clean and organize cafeteria and common areas.
• Restocking paper products, soap, and other custodial supplies.
• Assisting with setup and cleanup for school events and activities.
• Helping move or organize light furniture, equipment, and supplies as directed.
• Following all school safety procedures and proper procedures for using custodial equipment and supplies.
• Completing assigned tasks efficiently and taking pride in the appearance of Pickens High School.
• Demonstrating professionalism, dependability, teamwork, and respect when working with students and staff.
• Performing other appropriate duties as assigned by the custodial supervisor or school administration.

Requirements:

SDPC student at least 16 years old Teacher recommendation Checking account Background Check Includes National Sex Offender database and SLED, if applicable.
