A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
are listed below in order of importance, from most important to least important Cleans restrooms, sales floor, offices, break room, and other work areas. Sweeps, dust mops, wet mops floors, and uses floor scrubbing machine. Vacuums and cleans rugs and carpets. Empties wastebaskets, garbage cans and transports trash and waste to disposal area. Restocks bathrooms with supplies. Cleans fixtures, shelving, glass doors, and window seals. Picks up trash and litter from building grounds and dumpster area. Removes shopping carts from the store grounds and returns to inside of store. Breaks down boxes and transports to cardboard container. Checks air fresheners and change batteries and supplies when needed. Maintain and clean work area (custodial closet), along with following SOP guidelines for work area. Reports known or suspected security and/or theft problems to the Store Manager or other member of management.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
