A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
Part-Time Custodian — Clarendon Hall Clarendon Hall is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Part-Time Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, families, and visitors.
Schedule:
20-25 hours per week Employment type: Part-time Work schedule: May include afternoons, evenings, and occasional special events Responsibilities Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and carpets. Empty trash and recycling containers. Clean windows, doors, furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces. Restock soap, paper products, and custodial supplies. Assist with setup and cleanup for meetings, programs, and special events. Perform minor maintenance tasks and report repair or safety concerns. Safely use and store cleaning products and equipment. Help secure assigned areas by checking doors, windows, and rooms. Follow all health and safety procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred but not required. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and detail. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Professional and respectful when working around students, staff, and visitors. Willingness to work a flexible schedule when needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs, and perform repetitive movements. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate standard custodial equipment.
