A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Facilities Development Description & Requirements Come join our family at In-N-Out Burger! We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Facilities Porter based in our Franklin, TN- office. The Facilities Porter is responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and day-to-day readiness of the Franklin, TN corporate campus, a Class A office environment comprised of multiple buildings and support structures.
- This position is full-time, in-office only
- Franklin, TN General Responsibilities Common Area and Restroom Maintenance
- Perform continuous rounds throughout all campus buildings to maintain cleanliness and presentation standards in lobbies, corridors, elevators, stairwells, restrooms, and shared workspaces.
- Stock and maintain all campus break rooms including coffee and beverage stations, refrigerators, microwaves, dishwashers, ice machines, and specialty break room equipment.
- Prepare, reset, and maintain all conference rooms, huddle rooms, and collaborative workspaces to ensure they are clean, organized, and ready for use.
- Support internal events, training programs, and special occasions by setting up and breaking down furniture, signage, catering service areas, and related equipment. Coordinate with events, marketing, and university program teams as directed by the supervisor. Ensure event spaces are returned to standard configuration promptly after use. Furniture Moves and Minor Workspace Reconfigurations
- Assist with furniture assembly, desk moves, workstation reconfigurations, and minor space adjustments to support associate seating changes and departmental needs. Coordinate with maintenance staff on tasks requiring tools or building system adjustments. Executive and Sensitive Area Support
- Provide attentive and discreet facility services to executive leadership areas, conference suites, and other sensitive spaces on campus.
- Monitor the appearance of building entryways, patios, courtyards, sidewalks, parking areas, and other exterior spaces. Pick up litter and debris, address minor outdoor housekeeping needs, and report landscaping or exterior maintenance issues to the supervisor. Coordinate with landscaping and pest control service providers as directed. Receiving and Deliveries Support
- Assist with receiving, moving, and distributing deliveries of supplies, equipment, and vendor materials across campus. Support mail and package handling during high-volume periods as needed. Ensure loading dock and receiving areas are kept clean and organized. Safety and Compliance
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in all areas of responsibility. Follow proper handling and storage procedures for cleaning chemicals and supplies. Participate in safety drills, evacuation exercises, and building inspections as directed. Report safety hazards, maintenance issues, and near-miss incidents promptly to the supervisor. Gym and Amenity Area Support
- Support the upkeep of campus amenity spaces including the gym/fitness center and shower facilities.
Benefits Full-time, Non-exempt, Hourly Office Hours:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-4:00 pm Must be available for occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work to support building events, special programs, or extended campus operating hours Excellent Benefits, to include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, FSA's, 401(k)/Profit Sharing Plan, Adoption Assistance, Education Reimbursement, Supplemental Health Plans and Pet Insurance Qualifications High School Diploma or GED; required 1-3+ years experience in a previous role as a Day Porter, building attendant, custodial, hospitality, or facilities support; required 1-3+ years experience working in a commercial office, corporate campus, hotel, or similar professional environment; required Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook) Basic proficiency in ServiceNow or equivalent CMMS/ticketing platform for viewing and updating work orders Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, products, and equipment appropriate for a Class A office environment Understanding of proper chemical handling and storage procedures Familiarity with break room and kitchen equipment operation and maintenance Basic understanding of workplace safety practices Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high presentation standards Strong communication skills; excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization including executive leadership Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing needs throughout the day. Physically capable of sustained standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout a full shift Self-directed work ethic with the ability to identify and address issues proactively without waiting for direction High level of discretion and professionalism, particularly when working in or around executive and sensitive areas Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds Valid TN Driver's License required ABOUT In-N-Out Burger In-N-Out Burger was founded in 1948 by Harry and Esther Snyder in Baldwin Park, California, and remains privately owned and operated.
