Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK
: Perform work for maintaining the cleanliness of city office buildings, restrooms and park restrooms utilizing cleaning equipment such as buffers, vacuum cleaner, pressure washer, blower, wet vac and scrubber. Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms. Some computer knowledge is required for email use and to generate/close out work orders using work order software.

WORK HOURS
SPLIT SHIFT Monday-Wednesday:
2:30 pm-11:00 pm. Off Thursday and Friday.
Saturday and Sunday:
8:00 am-4:30 pm.
NOTE:
Responsibilities include cleaning the offices within the Animal Services Department, the GPD Jail Cell(s), and Park Restrooms. Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
: Clean offices, empty trash, recycle, dusting, shredders, desks, phones, computers Sweep, mop, vacuum, wax floors, buff floors, strip floors and spot clean carpet where necessary. Clean windows, mirrors and glass surfaces and ensure they are free of streaks Sweep or use blower for outside entrance ways Remove trash outside building Clean, sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, shower stalls and park restrooms and ensure that soap and paper dispensers are well-stocked Pressure wash walkways to building entrances May perform minor repairs such as unstopping sinks or toilets Take inventory of cleaning supplies and materials and order more as needed Maintain and cleanliness of the kitchen sinks, counter tops, walls, microwave (no dishwashing) Generate and close out work order's Ensure safe application use of cleaning chemicals Inform crew supervisor of any broken or non functioning equipment so that the issue can be resolved promptly
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
: 1. Assists in setting up and cleaning up for special events including setting up tables and chairs, preparing coffee and stocking refreshment table with adequate supplies. 2. Perform related tasks as required. Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
: Knowledge of various cleaning equipment, tools, and materials. Knowledge of use and standard safety practices in operating equipment and applying cleaning materials. Skill in operating building cleaning equipment including buffer and vacuum. Ability to follow oral/written instructions. Ability to read and understand operation manuals. Skill in communicating for the purpose of obtaining, clarifying, or giving information. Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including climbing and working from a 6ft. ladder. Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Ability to read, write and to understand written and oral instructions. Various knowledge, skills, and ability to perform cleaning tasks as required. Must have at least six months of commercial custodial experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS
: Work involves indoor and outdoor duties, using various types of machines, performing dirty and unpleasant tasks, and using various cleaning chemicals. Perform work that involves cleaning outdoor park restrooms in extreme temperatures. Majority of time will be spent standing, stooping, walking, and occasionally lifting heavy equipment up to 50lbs may be required. Work involves evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
Hours of Work:
Monday - Wednesday 2:30pm-11:00pm Thursday/Friday- OFF Saturday/Sunday 8am-4:30pm
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
: Must possess a valid Driver's License.
