Position & Program Overview:

This custodial position plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for staff, clients, and visitors of the Washington County Health Department. The custodian will work daily with the County Director to establish and complete routine custodial and maintenance goals while supporting an excellent customer service experience.

Education Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Custodial or facility maintenance experience preferred. Ability to lift and move equipment and furniture as part of routine cleaning duties. Knowledge of OSHA guidelines or willingness to complete required training.

Key Responsibilities:

Complete daily, weekly, and monthly custodial and maintenance duties with minimal supervision. Maintain facilities using proper tools and equipment per OSHA guidelines. Ensure cleaning and maintenance supplies are adequately stocked; submit requisitions as needed. Clean and maintain floors daily, including vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping; move heavy equipment and furniture monthly for thorough cleaning. Clean restroom facilities daily, ensuring supplies are replenished. Collect and store hazardous and biohazard waste daily according to infection control guidelines. Respond immediately to building alarms and power outages and report status to the County Director. Maintain an organized, functional workspace. Utilize a checklist system to ensure no scheduled tasks are missed and to support a consistently high level of cleanliness throughout the building. Responsible for performing light maintenance duties such as general upkeep, minor plumbing, replacing fixtures, etc.

Pay:

$2,135.00 per month
