A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Purpose of Position The purpose of this position is to interact with clients, project managers, and MCLinc laboratory staff to accept samples and ensure proper entry into the MCLinc Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Essential Functions
  • Communicate with clients, Project Managers, and MCLinc laboratory staff in advance of sample receipt as needed about sample analysis details
  • Accept samples from clients and confirm that sample details match the client chain of custody; perform radiological, temperature and chemical pre-screening as needed and contact the Radiation Safety Officer if samples are radiologically contaminated
  • With Client approval, complete a chain of custody if not present with delivery and complete MCLinc sample receipt form
  • Enter sample information into LIMS and distribute Project information to laboratory staff in accordance with MCLinc

  • Direct questions concerning samples and analysis from clients or laboratory analysts to the Laboratory Manager, Project Manager or Quality Manager
  • Complete third-party chain of custody for sample analyses that will be subcontracted with input from the Laboratory Manager or Project Manager
  • Inform laboratory analysts of rush samples received and deliver samples to appropriate laboratory department
  • Monitor all packages received by common carrier to confirm if sample shipment is present
  • Enter Sample Project in QuickBooks for billing purposes Additional Functions
  • Ensure confidentiality of client organization and MCLinc proprietary information
  • Ensure regular, punctual attendance during scheduled work hours Perform other duties as required Minimum Training & Qualifications A minimum of an associate degree is required to be hired into the Sample Custodian / LIMS Coordinator position.
An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position may be considered. One to two years of lab experience preferred. Specialized Knowledge Experience with MS Word, Excel and Database systems. Successful completion of Radiation Worker 2 training provided by MCLinc and other training as required.
