Overview Join our dedicated facilities team as a Night Custodian, working from 5:00 PM to approx 11:30 PM to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our premises during evening hours, supporting the overall safety and appearance of our facility. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, common areas, and other designated spaces using commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures to ensure effective sanitation without risk. Conduct heavy lifting tasks in accordance with safe lifting practices when moving supplies, furniture, or equipment. Maintain facilities by performing routine custodial tasks including trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and surface sanitation. Support minor maintenance activities such as residential painting or basic repairs to uphold facility standards. Operate cleaning equipment efficiently and safely, ensuring all tools are maintained in good working order. Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial activities to prevent accidents and ensure a secure environment. Experience Prior custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely and effectively. Experience with floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, sealing, and polishing floors. Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices such as minor repairs or painting is advantageous. Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy lifting, chemical handling, and equipment operation. Customer service skills are beneficial for interacting professionally with staff or visitors when needed. Proven reliability in adhering to safety protocols and maintaining high standards of cleanliness in fast-paced environments.
