What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Job Summary The Custodian maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of a facility, performing tasks like sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and ensuring a safe and organized environment. Essential Functions and Duties Maintain cleanliness of offices and plants in a timely and safety manner. Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors. Dusting furniture and surfaces. Cleaning windows and glass surfaces. Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms. Emptying trash and recycling bins. Spot cleaning carpets and rugs. Assists with special projects or events as needed. Restocking cleaning supplies and equipment. Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times. Qualifications Must be able to physically perform daily tasks, which include lifting material weighing in excess of 50 lbs. or more. Must have a strong sense of urgency in completing assigned daily duties. Must have a strong sense of urgency in accomplishing hourly goals and daily duties. Education and Experience Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Will take work experience in lieu of Education. Experience within a janitorial or custodian role within manufacturing helpful Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions Office and factory environment, possibly including heavy lifting, and areas where eye protection, hearing protection, and respirators are required.
