In this vital role, you will ensure that all areas are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and well-maintained to provide a welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help uphold our high standards of hygiene and safety, contributing to a positive experience for everyone who enters our premises. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive cleaning of all designated areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents. Operate floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools to maintain floor care standards such as buffing and polishing. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety protocols to prevent accidents or contamination. Conduct manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies, furniture, or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices. Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting surfaces, restocking supplies, and ensuring all facilities meet health regulations. Assist with minor maintenance tasks or report issues related to facilities maintenance or equipment malfunction. Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to ensure personal safety and that of others in the workspace. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and chemical handling safety procedures is highly desirable. Experience with facility maintenance tasks including minor repairs or painting is a plus. Knowledge of sanitation standards and safe chemical handling practices is essential. Previous porter or industrial cleaning roles will be considered an asset. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during routine cleaning operations. Strong attention to detail with a proactive attitude toward maintaining a clean and safe environment.
