Store Manager Position Summary The Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the grocery store and its surrounding grounds. This position performs routine maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep to ensure a safe and pleasant shopping environment for customers and employees. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance and repair tasks throughout the store, including minor plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry work.

Conduct routine inspections of store facilities, equipment, and grounds to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.

Maintain floors, windows, restrooms, parking areas, sidewalks, and exterior spaces in a clean and safe condition.

Repair or replace damaged fixtures, shelving, carts, doors, and other store equipment as needed.

Assist with setup, movement, and installation of store displays, racks, and equipment.

Ensure refrigeration units, lighting systems, HVAC equipment, and other store systems are functioning properly and report major repairs to management.

Remove trash and recycling materials and maintain proper waste disposal practices.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests from management and store personnel.

Follow all company safety policies, food safety regulations, and occupational health standards.

Maintain maintenance logs and records of completed work.

Assist during emergencies, including cleanup of spills or hazardous conditions.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous maintenance, custodial, or facilities experience preferred.

Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repair.

Ability to safely use hand and power tools.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb for extended periods.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance.

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment safely.

Work Environment

Grocery store setting with exposure to refrigerated and freezer areas.

Frequent interaction with customers, vendors, and store employees.

May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
