Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of floors using methods such as floor scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and refinishing to restore shine and durability. Handle cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal to maintain overall cleanliness. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, polishers, carpet cleaners, and floor scrubbers with precision and safety. Mix and apply floor cleaning chemicals and agents responsibly, adhering to safety protocols for chemical handling. Conduct manual handling of heavy cleaning supplies and equipment while following proper ergonomic practices. Maintain high standards of janitorial and custodial services by inspecting work areas regularly and addressing any issues promptly. Support environmental services initiatives by ensuring eco-friendly cleaning practices are followed and supplies are used responsibly. Skills Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services with knowledge of janitorial procedures. Skilled in various floor care techniques including scrubbing, buffing, waxing, polishing, and floor refinishing. Ability to handle chemical agents safely and effectively while following safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines. Proficient in operating cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and floor scrubbers. Strong manual handling skills for heavy lifting of supplies and equipment. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally with clients or staff. Knowledge of environmental services standards with a focus on eco-friendly cleaning practices.
