Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas. Handle cleaning chemicals safely, following proper chemical handling safety procedures to prevent accidents or contamination. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners to maintain floors and carpets in top condition. Conduct sanitation of restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to ensure compliance with health standards. Assist with light maintenance tasks like changing light bulbs, minor repairs, and painting as needed. Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting and manual handling activities to prevent injuries. Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages promptly. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is highly preferred. Familiarity with cleaning techniques for various surfaces including floors, windows, and fixtures. Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures is essential for safe operations. Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and industrial vacuums is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to follow safety protocols during heavy lifting and custodial tasks. Customer service skills are a plus, as the role often involves interacting with staff or visitors in a professional manner.
