Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

The part-time school custodian is responsible for performing a variety of custodial duties to ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance of the school premises. This position supports the overall functioning of the school by maintaining a safe and inviting environment for students, staff, and visitors. Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the school facilities. Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in classrooms, hallways, and offices. Empty trash regularly. Clean and disinfect surfaces to prevent the spread of germs. Clean windows and mirrors for a presentable appearance. Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked, and well-maintained. Report maintenance issues for prompt repair or replacement. Assist in minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and fixing door hinges. Monitor the school premises for safety hazards and take appropriate action. Lock and unlock doors to ensure building security. Assist with setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for special events. Collaborate with other custodial staff and school administrators for efficient operations. Work independently and complete tasks within designated timeframes. Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Communication Skills - Able to communicate with team members and management
Physical Qualifications:
Frequently required to stand for long periods of time, use hands to handle or control objects, reach with arms or legs, walk/stand walk for extended periods of time.
Pay:
$14.00 - $18.00 per hour
