Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas. Handle cleaning chemicals and agents safely, adhering to proper chemical handling safety procedures at all times. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums to ensure optimal floor care and sanitation. Conduct heavy lifting tasks following safe lifting practices when moving furniture, supplies, or equipment. Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, hallways, offices, and common areas while ensuring compliance with sanitation standards. Follow safety protocols during all custodial activities to prevent accidents or injuries. Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks as needed to support overall building upkeep. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred. Familiarity with cleaning equipment including floor buffers and industrial cleaning tools is highly desirable. Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures is essential for safe operations. Experience with facilities maintenance or general upkeep tasks such as minor repairs or painting is a plus. Strong understanding of sanitation standards and safety protocols related to custodial work. Customer service skills are beneficial for interacting professionally with staff and visitors when necessary. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safe practices throughout the workday.
