This energetic role involves performing a variety of custodial and janitorial tasks to create a welcoming, sanitary environment for staff and visitors alike. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of sanitation and safety across all areas of the facility. Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums with precision and care Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocols at all times Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, or equipment using safe lifting practices Maintain floors through buffing, stripping, polishing, and other floor care techniques to ensure a professional appearance Restock cleaning supplies and janitorial materials as needed to support ongoing maintenance efforts Follow all safety guidelines during cleaning procedures to prevent accidents or injuries Provide excellent team skills by addressing facility-related inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally Requirements Proven custodial experience with a strong background in commercial cleaning or industrial cleaning environments Knowledge of cleaning techniques including sanitation standards and floor care procedures Experience handling chemical agents safely and understanding chemical handling safety procedures Ability to perform heavy lifting while adhering to safe lifting practices and safety protocol adherence Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining cleanliness standards Prior janitorial or porter experience is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential Good physical stamina with the ability to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform manual tasks for extended periods Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude toward teamwork and facility upkeep
