Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in our facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks to ensure the highest standards of sanitation and safety are upheld. Your efforts will directly contribute to a positive experience for staff, visitors, and clients alike. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of all facility areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and maintaining accurate records of chemical use. Operate vacuums, and other custodial equipment to ensure floors are clean, polished, and well-maintained. Conduct sanitation procedures regularly to uphold health standards, including waste disposal and disinfecting high-touch surfaces. Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, minor repairs, or residential painting as needed. Follow safety protocols diligently during heavy lifting or manual handling activities to prevent injuries. Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and notify management when supplies need replenishing. Support facilities maintenance by reporting any issues or hazards promptly to ensure a safe environment for all occupants. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate. Familiarity with cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and the use of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuums is highly desirable. Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures is essential for maintaining a safe workspace. Experience in customer service or working within a team environment helps foster positive interactions with staff and visitors. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices is required. Previous experience in facilities maintenance or Porter roles demonstrates versatility and readiness for this position.
