Environmental Services The EVS Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the hospital. This role is primarily responsible for the care, cleaning, and maintenance of hard and soft flooring, walls, windows, ceilings, and specialized equipment. The technician also supports waste transport, textile handling, and event set-ups. Maintains floors by sweeping, wet/dry mopping, burnishing, stripping, refinishing, scrubbing, and extracting carpet. Operates floor care equipment (e.g., burnishers, auto scrubbers, extractors) safely and in compliance with hospital standards. Follows all safety and infection prevention protocols including correct dilution and use of cleaning and disinfectant solutions Cleans windows, walls, ceilings, light fixtures, vents, and other high/low surfaces. Changes and installs cubicle curtains and drapes as scheduled or upon request Transports soiled linens and textiles to the loading dock for pickup; returns empty carts to designated locations. Removes general and regulated waste from designated areas and transports to compactors. Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains waste transport carts and collection bins. Collects recyclables and disposes of them in proper containers or Performs set-up and breakdown of rooms for meetings Job Requirements High School Diploma or GED preferred 1-2 years of experience in floor care or healthcare housekeeping Ability to safely operate and maintain powered cleaning equipment Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks and manage time Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal communication Ability to follow oral and written instructions and hospital policies/procedures. May work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays Apply today!
