Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This vital role ensures that all areas are kept in pristine condition, promoting health, safety, and comfort for everyone who enters. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding high standards of cleanliness through efficient cleaning practices and adherence to safety protocols. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas. Handle cleaning chemicals and agents safely, following proper chemical handling safety procedures to prevent accidents or contamination. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners to maintain floors and surfaces in excellent condition. Conduct sanitation of restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to ensure compliance with health standards. Assist with custodial tasks related to facilities maintenance, including minor repairs or reporting larger issues for resolution. Use manual handling techniques for heavy lifting and moving supplies or equipment safely while following safe lifting practices. Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and supplies used; ensure all safety protocols are followed during daily operations. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is preferred. Familiarity with cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and the operation of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers is highly desirable. Experience handling chemical agents safely and knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures is a plus. Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy objects while adhering to safe lifting practices. Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when needed. Background in facilities maintenance or porter experience is advantageous for understanding broader building upkeep responsibilities.
