Overview Join our team as a Night Custodian and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This energetic role offers an opportunity to work 1:30 - 10pm, ensuring facilities are spotless and well-maintained for staff and students alike. As a Night Custodian, you will be responsible for performing thorough cleaning procedures, handling custodial equipment, and adhering to safety protocols—all while contributing to a positive facility atmosphere. This position is perfect for motivated individuals who enjoy hands-on work and take pride in creating pristine spaces. During the summer months this position works days. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and sanitizing surfaces across all areas of the school. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and industrial scrubbers to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and maintaining accurate documentation of chemical use. Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks in accordance with safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed. Maintain facilities by performing minor repairs or reporting maintenance issues promptly to ensure operational efficiency. Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a secure working environment during overnight hours. Support custodial and janitorial operations with attention to detail, ensuring all areas meet sanitation standards suitable for both residential and commercial spaces. Qualifications Prior custodial or janitorial experience is highly preferred, especially with commercial cleaning or industrial cleaning environments. Demonstrated ability to handle cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and other custodial tools effectively. Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation practices is essential. Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely throughout the shift. Strong commitment to safety protocol adherence and maintaining a clean, hazard-free environment. Excellent customer service skills are a plus, as this role may involve interaction with staff or students during routine checks or emergencies.
