What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Perform general janitorial and maintenance duties to ensure cleanliness and functionality of the facility
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, storage areas, and other common areas
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
- Dust and wipe down surfaces
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment Stocking of any area needing attention Monitor Propane Exchange station Mowing of grass in warm season, plowing and shoveling of snow in winter.
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as carpet cleaners, and pressure washers
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy objects
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Good communication skills to interact with staff and customers alike and address any maintenance/cleaning concerns in a reasonable amount of time Ability to openly see issues and address issues with minimal supervision Ability to see areas of needed attention without being specifically directed to complete.
