What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the Rec Center facilities. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will contribute to creating a safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.- Evenings Mon
- Friday
- 8:30 PM-10:30 PM (5 days per week)
Responsibilities:
- Perform industrial cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting
- Maintain the cleanliness of restrooms by replenishing supplies, cleaning fixtures, and sanitizing surfaces
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in designated areas
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
- Perform floor care duties such as mopping, power washing, and buffing floors
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed
- Follow proper cleaning procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
Skills:
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial work
- Knowledge of various cleaning techniques and equipment
- Ability to operate floor care machines such as buffers/floor scrubbers
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
