ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

MAIN JOB DUTIES
) We are seeking an enthusiastic and leadership-oriented Kitchen Associate to support and coordinate back-of-house operations during assigned shifts. This role focuses on food preparation, cooking, food quality, kitchen safety, sanitation, and efficient workflow. The Kitchen Lead reports directly to the Store Manager. Back-of-House Operations Lead BOH opening and closing procedures for assigned shifts to ensure smooth operations. Lead BOH food preparation, cooking, and service to ensure efficient workflow. Monitor food quality, order accuracy, and speed of service to ensure they meet company standards. Coordinate with FOH team members to address food quality and order-related issues. • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local health and safety regulations. Kitchen Production & Service Prepare ingredients according to menu standards, including cutting, marinating, and seasoning to ensure consistent flavor. Operate various kitchen equipment, including stove, fryer and steamer, with proper heat and timing control. Cook and plate dishes in coordination with order flow to ensure speed and quality. Assist with receiving, sorting, and organizing ingredients; label, store, and restock items properl. Support FOH and BOH coordination as needed, including restocking food, soup, sauce, and packing takeout orders Assist team members at different kitchen stations during peak hours to maintain smooth kitchen operations. Food Safety & Sanitation Follow food safety requirements for proper labeling, storage, and temperature control. Follow standard cleaning procedures before opening and after closing, including cleaning cutting boards, knives, equipment, floors. Enforce personal hygiene standards, including handwashing, uniforms, hair restraints and correct glove usage. Organize refrigerators and inventory using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles and regularly check expiration dates and freshness. Immediately clean up oil spills and dropped ingredients to reduce slip and burn risks and maintaining a safe work environment. 【
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

JOB REQUIREMENTS
) Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed for job duties Ability to stand for extended periods, walk/reach/high/bend/squat as necessary Basic leadership and communication skills; able to remain calm in a fast-paced environment Flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings Bilingual (English/Chinese/Japanese) communication skills preferred, but not required 【
PRIOR EXPERIENCE
】 1+ year of restaurant experience required (FOH or BOH experience accepted) Experience in Japanese cuisine or healthy dining brands (e.g. CAVA, Panda Express) preferred Familiarity with Japanese culinary philosophy (fresh ingredients, light seasoning, build-your-own bowl/salad concept) preferred Experience in fast-casual dining is preferred Inventory management, cost control, or team training experience preferred 【
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT
】 ServSafe Manager certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire 【
