Job Description

Job Summary Station Craft Taproom + Pizzeria is looking for a full-time Kitchen Lead who is ready to take ownership of the kitchen and lead the team with pride. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth kitchen operations, maintaining high food quality standards, and creating a positive, hardworking team environment. The Kitchen Lead will work closely with the Assistant General Manager and operate under the guidance of our Culinary Director. This is a leadership role for someone who takes initiative, holds high standards, and cares deeply about the guest experience. We are looking for someone who brings a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and openness to new ideas. Our menu continues to evolve as we grow, and we value leaders who are excited to contribute ideas, improve processes, and help develop a strong kitchen team. Responsibilities Lead and oversee daily kitchen operations during shifts Train, coach, and develop BOH team members to maintain strong performance and consistency Ensure all recipes, portioning, and plating standards are executed consistently Maintain high standards for food quality, cleanliness, and organization in the kitchen Monitor and enforce proper food safety, labeling, dating, and storage procedures Identify and correct quality or execution issues during service in real time Partner with FOH leadership to support smooth service and positive guest experiences Assist in resolving service issues that originate from the kitchen Monitor inventory during shifts and communicate shortages, waste, or ordering needs to management Support kitchen prep systems and ensure efficient workflow during busy service periods Help implement menu updates, specials, and recipe testing as directed by the Culinary Director Maintain strong BOH morale and teamwork during high-volume shifts Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed properly and the kitchen is left clean and organized Skills & Qualifications Previous kitchen leadership or lead cook experience Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and BOH operational standards Ability to lead, train, and develop a kitchen team High attention to consistency, quality, and execution Strong work ethic and reliability Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment Clear communicator who works well with both BOH and FOH teams Positive attitude and lead-by-example leadership style Passion for hospitality and delivering a great guest experience Work Conditions Must be able to work approximately 40 hours per week Open availability required, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Ability to stand and move for extended periods of time Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment with exposure to heat, noise, and kitchen equipment Compensation $23-25 hourly starting wage
