The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly in sushi preparation, and will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety and hygiene. Duties Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring consistency and quality. Select and source fresh ingredients, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service. Assist in menu development by contributing innovative sushi ideas and seasonal offerings. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist with ordering as necessary. Skills Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry. Strong knowledge of food handling practices and dietary requirements related to sushi preparation. Experience in fine dining or high-volume restaurant settings is preferred. Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in meal preparation. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within the kitchen team.
